Your Houston Astros. . . .or are they??

In one season for the Astros they moved away from there biggest division rivals and "the machine" Albert Pujols, they also got rid of the one man who turned this franchise into the new farm system for the Phillies, and in the middle of all this they got a new owner and got rid of the few good players they did have. . . . .so now what???
Well Houston fans we didn't exactly get away from Mr. Pujols you might have herd he got signed to a small insignificant deal to the Angels (who are in the same division the Astros are moving to). Also the move will mean later start times but better teams coming to town, and the new owner Mr. Crane has lowered ticket prices and allowed fans to bring in small amounts of food and water into the ballpark for games. There is light at the end of the tunnel because of one of hopefully many smart moves by Mr. Crane, and that would be the hiring of Jeff luhnow.
Luhnow served as head of scouting in St. Louis and has drafted many good players who still are in the majors. I believe in the system but know its going to take time. I was a doubter once the team was sold and the players got traded but at the same time optimistic. With some of the recent activity and new found ear for what the fans like it seams that this owner is creating a buzz around town but do we really want to change the name? I feel like a new uniform and team colors would be nice and if the team does change names why not go back to the original Colt 45s that would be DOPE!! Never have I been more excited to watch baseball then this season not for any one player in uniform but for the teams performance. A big new home is great to have but watching it get built makes you appreciate it much more. With that being said we are in for one LONG season Houston fans but show support because loyalty pays off just look at your Houston Texans. See you at opening day and Go Astros or Colts or what ever they are to be called.

Rest in peace Joe

Let me start by saying i cant clam to have followed his whole career (he has been coaching longer then i have been alive) but his story/track record is one of the best. No other coach has done what he has as far as being with one program for that long and all the while keeping Penn State as relevant as any program in the country.  Dispite the recent events that have taken place do not let that take away from hundreds of thousands of dollars he has donated to help others, Penn State as a whole, but most notably the library. He has done great things and made mistakes hes only human but now is the time to celebrate his life. Many said he should of stopped coaching along time ago and others said football was his life and in an iroic series of events it seems football may have been what kept him going. No matter how cliche it sounds he truly did live for football, so to quote one of my favorite movies "heros get remembered, but legends never die".

Rest In Peace JoePa

Bulls On Parade

I never thought I would say this but the better defense was not wearing purple and black but liberty white, battle red, and deep steel blue. The Texans defense held the oh so dangerous Ray Rice to 60 yards on 21 attempts and in the picture above out of the end zone with 1st and goal from the 5. The Baltimore offense as a whole were held to 227 of total offense which is just about half of the yards they put up back in week 6. Not only was it a good game but this is still a young team who will only get better they are still in year one under Wade Phillips and i cant wait to see what J.J. Watt (or as his team mates call him MegaWatt, Hakeem Olaju-Watt, or simply The Milk Man) does with a full training camp and OTAs under his belt. In the words of Bart Scott I "Cant Wait" till next season.

Super Fight or Super Hype

So now we finally get Floyd Mayweather to call out Manny Pacquiao and thats all well BUT calling Pacquiao a punk?? If im not mistaken before his last fight with Ortiz, Floyd said Manny was next then soon after said "I never said that dont put words in my mouth" Floyd has been running from this fight for years and now that he is ready Manny should just come running at the chance? I think it would be great to see this "Super Fight" but i think it still will get more hype until these guys get some crazy amount of money that neither one of them really need. (but in the words of 2 pac " I aint mad at cha") Its a brutal sport and these guys are the cream of the crop so get your money guys just make the fight happen. Oh and if Manny is worried about enough people being at the fight and wanting to wait for this new stadium to be built in Las Vegas why don't yall bring the fight to texas.....everything is bigger in Texas.
