The State of Houston Sports
If the Astros lose tonight or don't win another game for 2 weeks, and the Rockets go on a losing streak and miss the playoffs it will still not over shadow how you as fans of Houston sports feel today. The Texans have come off there best season ever and first playoff win in team history, the Rockets are on a roll they have Kyle Lowry back and seem to be headed to the playoffs full steam ahead, the Dynamo new stadium is almost ready to open up its doors, and the Astros are off to their best start to a season since 06. What more do you guys want? Well to put it in one word Championship this city wants a Champion and until we should not be content with just a good start or just making the playoffs.
The Texans will be held to a higher standered this season as they should, and if the season ends anything short of a Superbowl appearance will be a failure. Once we adopt that mentality with our other teams those teams will feel the need to do better. We as fans of Houston sports should go into a game and expect to win not hoping we do well, that's mediocrity and I'm sick and tired of it. You shouldn't have to root for another team because your Houston franchise didn't make it to the playoffs. When free agency comes around other free agents should want to come here if for nothing else because the team is always in contention and the fans are the best fans in the country. So I say that to say this go out to a game, post on national blogs, and call in to your radio stations and make your voice herd, we want a winner and we will not settle for anything else.

UH new logo
This is what the new University of Houston logo will look like. Does this remind you of a certain nittany lion? What made the school go for a logo change i don't know, maybe the move in conference, or maybe its to go with the new stadiums they plan on moving to. Either way I'm not sure i like the new logo but I'm also not sure i don't like it either. Let me know what you think.

Colt .45s
On this day in 1962 Major League Baseball officially started in Houston as the Colt .45s make a big hit in their 11-2 Opening Day win against the Chicago Cubs. To commemorate this great day in Houston the Astros will don the Colt .45 jerseys today against the Atlanta Braves, and they will also wear all the throwback jerseys in the Astros history threw out the season every home Friday game. I for one are in favor of the Colt jerseys and wish they were going to wear them a little more often.

Ozzie beign Ozzie
So in the after math of the comments made by Ozzie Guillen saying he "Loves Castro" Ozzie had a press conference to apologize for what he said. Ozzie is known for his sometimes out of line comments but for the most part he's just a funny guy who doesn't hold back but I think he spoke on something he had no business speaking on. This is not going to end well fotr Ozzie.

Kyle or Goran
Now that Lowry is getting back on the court from that nasty viral infection how do you feel about throwing him back in the starting lineup? You must admit Dragic has been playing lights out while Lowry was out and Goran has caught the attention of the league as of late. Come this off season the Rockets will have a big decision to make on will they keep two point guards or make a packaged trade for a high draft pick or star big man. We as Rockets fans have been through this with Rafer Alston, and more recently with Aaron Brooks so I am confident in the move Daryl Morey will make. Morey did how ever get us a small no name backup point guard named Lowery, and a perennial back up in Dragic who both turned into very good starters that has put us in the situation we are in right now. So with that said, who would you rather keep if we can’t keep both Goran or Kyle??

The Young Guns Strike Again
The Houston Astros started off a little rocky in the first 2 innings but then after Happ gave up 3 runs in the 3rd that was all the Braves were going to get. Happ and the rest of the bull pen settled down and as a unit didn't allow another run or even another hit after the 3rd for that matter. The Astros jumped all over the Braves after that and cruised to an 8-3 win with Justin Maxwell, who was just signed off waivers from the Yankees Sunday, hitting a two run blast over the Crawford Boxes in left field. The Astros haven't started 3-1 since the 06 season but besides that these young Astros are just fun to watch so lets see how long they can keep this up.
