Not just Black and White

Dear Royce,
I have been paying attention to this whole situation and had a few things to say. First off you preach about Progress but yet all this tweeting is not going to help deal with your Anxiety. I’m not saying stfu and get back on the court I’m saying you should be worried about making things work and getting back to being seen on the court instead of tweeting about not getting a fair shake. I don’t see other activist tweeting about being mistreated and feeling sorry for themselves they talk about what they did in spite of their illness. Did you see the track star who lost both legs give up or preach about being transparent? No he found a way to overcome and ran against able body athletes at the OLYMPICS!
It seems like your using this illness as a crutch. You have access to all the help you will need, and more than anyone who suffers from the same illness. You should take advantage of the opportunities your “Talent” has afforded you and once you get on the court and people start to praise you for your on court accomplishments your voice will be A LOT louder than it is now. I was telling any fan who would listen how good of a pick in the draft you were and how this illness won’t affect you on the court, but help you to succeed so you can spread the word even farther. Good luck but if I’m being HONEST you’re not going about this the right way.

Man Dies at Blue Jays Game

Thursday’s game between the White Sox and Blue Jays was delayed after a fan went into cardiac arrest down the left-field line at Rogers Centre. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to “the man in white,” who was tweeting from the game, a fan performed CPR on the ailing man first and then medics took over after reaching his location. Medics continued to perform CPR as he was carted off the field, and the game resumed after he was taken off. City-TV reported after the game that he died in the hospital.
The White Sox were on the field before the game was delayed.
“It was not a good sight,” White Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis said afterwards. “I saw some medics jump out around the dugout and run over. Then I saw a doctor or whoever was going, just pushing on the chest over and over and over. I thought maybe they were reviving him and then they next thing you know, they kept going and going.”
The identity of the man has yet to be released.

Whats next for the Rockets?

Well with the start of NFL pre season and the Dwight deal being done it seems as the Rockets are left with all these puzzle pieces and no one to put them together. As it stands today the Rockets roster has 21 players on it and the NBA will only allow 15 to make the season roster so what will the hometown team do? Some say Morey is still not done this off season and he is looking to land a Josh Smith or Danny Granger type player. We all know by now Kevin Martin and his expiring contract don’t want to be in Houston and that’s fine he is one of the 6 players we need to move. So what can the Rockets get for these other 5 mid to end of the bench type players? Picks? Package them for a better player? Release them into the "woods with the wolf" as D Mo would say?
Many of the talking heads in the national media will say the Rockets have been left for dead now that Dwight has been traded to the Lakers I think they are headed into a youth movement and have a 4-5 nice starting pieces. The draft was immediately called a failure for the Rockets because they did not move up and ended up making selections, but all three picks were standouts in the Vegas Summer League. D Mo was a 2nd round pick last year and is now ready to play in the NBA and he too has impressed in the Summer league, and then you have Chandler Parsons who was one of the better defenders on the team last year and now looks poised to be a better pro this season. Oh yea I almost forgot to mention we got this Lin guy from New York who is pretty good too. With this nucleus it seems like the future is bright for the Rockets and if Morey can pull off one more move for an established vet who can lead this team with Lin the Thunder.....I mean Rockets will be just fine.

Is the Dwightmare over?

So the Dwightmare is over and we can all sleep well at night....wait....it is over right?? Wrong, Dwights "camp" have already come out and said that he will not sign an extension, nor should he. If he were to sign an extension he would be leaving about 2 years and over 35 million on the table. If we waits and re ups with the Lakers after the season he can get a 5 yr deal and 20 million more with the Lakers than any other team. Now with that being said here is why the Dwightmare is not close to being over.
It has been known that ever since this whole demand for a trade started Dwight has and always wanted to go to Brooklyn to help reboot the Nets, but once the Nets signed Brook Lopez to a huge deal that bubble has since been burst. Now he had his attention turned to LA and Dallas and now that he is with the Lakers you figure its done he won, but that just would not be the Dwight Howard way. He has gone from the most likeable superstar in the league to the most hated and has removed the dark cloud over the decision that Lebron made. Howard's Camp has said he will try out the Lakers for this season and at season’s end look into going to Dallas and thus the Dwightmare continues.

How the West was won

Let me start off by saying Congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder for going through the toughest road to the finals in NBA history. No other team has ever done what the Thunder is doing haven bet teams who have won 10 of the last 13 championships and if they win it all they will have bet the last 11 of 13 champs. This team plays as such and does not count on one or two parts to win a game but rather they lean on each other and play as a unit. The Heat count on individual effort from 3 key guys and are getting beat by a better team in the Celtics so to me the best match up for the Finals would be the Celtics and Thunder not the Heat and Thunder. If the Heat play the Thunder the championship is as good as won for the Thunder. With that being said congrats OKC and you still have one more series to win!

Astros select Carlos Correa

Where do I begin with this Carlos kid? Well he is 6’4” 190 and is being crowned the next A Rod or Troy Tulowitzki. The last time the Astros passed on a “can’t miss” short stop that guy ended up winning some rings for a small town up in the northeast and goes by the name of Derek Jeter. Carlos is only 17 and scouts have said if he continues on his pace he should be in the majors by the 2014-2015 season which would put him around 19-20 years old. His arm strength and accuracy is a + + and his bat is a + as well but the thing he needs to work on is his base running although he is fast he needs a better feel for base running and stealing bases. If the Astros lock up Altuve and he progresses as he is and Carlos comes through the minors fast you would have a very good combo at SS and 2B for years to come not to mention players like JD and Shafer and Maxwell. Don’t look now but the Astros are slowly building a good team from the ground up. They still have a lot of holes but Rome wasn’t built in a day. ROOT ROOT ROOT

Heat Vs Celtics Game 1 Recap

The picture pretty much sums it up James was getting to the paint early and often with little to no resistance. Some are saying that the series the Celtics were in before going 7 games played a big role in the game but i think if Lebron is playing like this every game the Celtics couldn't beat the Heat with a week off. I'm not usually a Lebron fan but i have to say i am rooting for him to win a ring or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5. Paul and Ray have to do more in making shots and spacing the floor better if they are to make this a good series, and if they can spread the ball better they might have a chance. I'm looking for this game to go no more than 5 games with the Heat getting good rest for the Finals.

Heat vs Pacers

So what most thought was going to be a walk threw in the second round for the Heat might not be so easy. Chris Bosh is now out and will undergo an MRI today to see how long he will be out. Some are saying he might be out the rest of this series and that could be a major road block in their chase for a championship. Bosh was off to a great start controlling  the paint and not letting the Pacers get to the paint. Now the match up favors the Pacers in the post and if the Pacers can continue to move the ball around with great passing then they could make this a very interesting series. I hope this series goes not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 but 7 games....lol had to do it.

Paint the town....Orange!!

Finally after 6 years of MLS being in the great city of Houston our hometown team Dynamo are playing in their own stadium. The BBVA Compass Stadium has brought not only the Dynamo their own field but also what seems to be a new found love for soccer in the Houston community. I for one would catch a game when televised but never had the urge to go watch a game live, but now that this new stadium is here and I see all these passionate fans it makes me interested in what’s going on. Back to the actual game, the Dynamo must have been ready for some home cooking after being on the road for so long and boy do they know how to kick off a new stadium. The Dynamo got the win with a monster goal from 25 yards out by Brad Davis which proved to be the only goal of the game and the eventual game winner. The Stadium was full of rabid fans holding up signs and yelling out “forever orange” as the Dynamo had a little bit more pep in there step playing in front of their home crowd at their home stadium. It was refreshing to see and I can’t wait to make it out the stadium for a Dynamo game. Forever Orange!

Lakers bigs coming up short

Kobe was not as good as MJ but then again who is, but with that being said he did play at a higher level than anyone else on his team. Paul and Andrew were playing like this was game number 21 in a 82 games schedule they did not move their feet and were not involved in the game. How as a professional can you come out and be 1 for 10 shooting if you go 1 for 7 then you take it to the hole get fouled and get to the line. Your best player has the FLU and drops 31 points with 6 ast how are you not giving your all when your superstar is?? If i were a Laker fan I would be worried about this team in game 7. Anything can happen in a Game 7.

Chris "The Perv-man" Andersen

Chris "The Bird-man" Andersen will likely sit out game 6 of the Lakers vs Nuggets series because of legal issues. Earlier today Denver PD raided Andersen's home and when that news broke I'm sure everyone thought it was drug related and once i herd what the Police seized I wished it was just drugs. Andersen is rreportedly being investigated by the Douglas County Internet Crimes Against Children unit in Larkspur, Colo. Also according to 9 News Denver Chris Andersen has been excused from all team-related activities indefinitely as he deals with the reported investigation. I hope its not what it seams and no kids were hurt but if its as bad as they say i hope he goes to jail and never comes out.

Reports are that Kobe has missed shoot around today due to vomiting, abdominal pain, and massive headaches, I guess you could say Kobe will be shitting on boys tonight. I for one cant wait to see Kobe drop 38 or 40 points go on to beat the Heat in the Finals and ride off in the sunset matching Jordan in almost every way. Before I get ahead of myself lets see what he does tonight. This is going to be fun.

Peterson vs Khan II is off

So the rematch to Lamont Peterson and Amir “King” Khan is off….for now. According to ESPN Boxing’s Dan Rafael, Peterson has officially been pulled from the match after testing positive in March for what their saying is high levels of synthetic testosterone. Lamont’s camp says tests were the result of soy pellet injections intended as treatment for the fighter's abnormally low testosterone levels and the resulting physical and mental fatigue. This fight was the follow up to the twos fight in D.C. in which in my opinion Kahn got robbed of his belts by a split decision. Either way you see it this was going to be a good fight and one I was looking forward to.

Astros Marlins go 12

What a tough loss for the Astros as they go down in 12 innings to the Miami Marlins. It was a good game and i have to admit i stayed up for all 12 innings and to see this team play some good ball was refreshing to say the least. Jed Lowrie had the only 2 errors for the Astros and they turned into the 3rd and 4th runs for the Marlins but other than that it was a good game. Jed Lowrie was playing error free ball all season and his first two came at a bad time. I like to see how this team battled back but what is wrong with JD? His swing has developed a stall and his striking out alot more because of it that split half a second hesitation is the difference between a hit and a miss. Don't mistake this loss as a bad one they loss to a team that has won 9 of their last 10 and have started to look more and more like a playoff team, not at all like they looked in the beginning of the season. Josh HAM-ilton

What a night for the Texas Ranger not only did he have 4 home runs in one game but he had 4 HOME RUNS in one game. (Sounds so nice you have to say it twice) At what point do you as an opposing pitcher just say OK that's it i am walking this guy the rest of the night? Maybe after the second home run, ok maybe after the 3rd home run? No, well what about the 4th home run in Josh Hamilton's last 6 at bats against the Orioles he has 5 HRs and a double this guy is on fire! What gives this story a twist is the Rangers were going to be ok with letting him walk after this season because they didn't want to pay in the 175 million dollar range for 7 years and now it looks like Josh just made that decision a lot harder. Just for kicks look at these stats so far in the season - He leads the entire MLB in hitting .406 with 14 homers and 36 RBI. That goes along with his .458 on-base percentage, .840 slugging percentage, and 89 total bases. He has hit more home runs by himself then the entire San Diego Padres.

Michael Jordan "The Shot"

Welcome to the show Bryce

Over the weekend Bryce Harper showed up and showed out but the fact that he is living up to the hype and that he was the first rookie to steal home since who knows when was not the talk in fact it was that Cole Hamels drilled him in the top of the 1st. Well it’s not that he got drilled but that Hamels said it outright “yea I threw at him”, and the fact that everyone knows that it was intentional is not the problem but that he was so honest is what got him a 5 game suspension. Later in the club house Hamels said “It was just a welcome to the big leagues type of thing” and in my opinion there is nothing wrong with that. This type of thing is part of the tradition of baseball if you are not going to implement instant replay because it takes away from tradition than why are you going to suspend Hamels for keeping with tradition? It would be a different story if Hamels threw at Harpers head but he drilled Harper in the back away from his head and away from his legs or knees. I think this story is way over hyped and takes away from the fact that he his on fire and has brought the Lebron type of excitement to the MLB. Just look at this post I haven't even talked about Harper its been all about Hamels. Welcome to the show Bryce.

Mayweather vs Cotto Recap

While some people I talked to say this was a boring fight not worth paying for others including myself say this was the best fight of Floyds 43 fight career and as for Cotto he put no doubt in peoples mind that he is one of the top guys in the sport. No one has blooded Mayweather or really got to him like Cotto did although I think Cotto did abandon the jab that was working so well for him and attacked Mayweather on the ropes which is just what Floyd wanted. On the other hand Floyd could have took the easy rout and just out boxed Cotto but he didn’t, in fact Floyd stood in there and made it a fight and drew Cotto into a fight that took away his power. Mayweather took the fight to the corners and made Cotto deliver close punches instead of staying around the middle of the ring where Cotto could have done more damage with stronger more powerful punches. This fight was not only good for the winner, but also the loser credibility wise, and I must say as much as I hate Mayweather for his disrespect of fighters and announcers at times he did apologize and did some PR work as well as put on a good fight. In all this was a great fight and a great card if boxing could put more fights like this together it won’t be long for boxing to be as mainstream and popular as it once was.

Avlarez vs Mosley recap

Nothing less than a really good fight from Alvarez and has defenatly opened the eyes of every boxing fan that may have been on the fence about him. This was his coming out party to the common fight fan, but to the others who have been following this up and comer this fight was nothing new. Alvarez was able to land heavy hard punches pretty much at will as well as take the power punches from Mosely, the same power punches that got him a knock down against pac man and visably hurt Mayweather in their last fight, and never seamed to miss a beat. Alvarez is only 21 years young and has 40 wins 29 by knockout and 1 draw not to mention the other 10-15 fights when he was between the ages of 14-17 fighting as a professional in Mexico but because of the way they keep records of professional fights and where they hold some of the fights those were not included in his 40 win record. For Alvarez to be this young and have that much experience makes him that much better, and wasent there a big hype built around a certen fighter who was 40 and 0 in his carrer also??? Eather way this kid Alvarez is the king of Mexico and the air aperant to De La Hoya with all the right qualities to be a major superstar in the sport, and he already has major sponsership from the likes of Corona and Under Armour. To put it as best I can Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is “Money”.

Another one bites the dust

In the words of BIG "and another one" goes down with an ACL tear, but this time Mariano might be done for good. Rivera is undoubtedly the greatest closer to play baseball and that is what makes this story even worse. Rivera wanted to go out on his own terms and it looks like that wont happen. Reports are that he was catching pop ups in pre game, a ritual he does before every game, and got his foot stuck tearing his ACL. This is not good Yankee fans but either way you guys will be fine, and as for Mariano its too bad it ended this way. Here's to the best to ever do it. The Bills might get Young

Reports are out that Vince Young yes UT Vince, Titans Vince, "Dream Team ha ha" Vince is working out for the Buffalo Bills. Will he make the team who knows but if he does it will be interesting non the less to have the leagues smartest QB in Fitzpatrick and possibly the dumbest in Vince.....jk guys it was a joke. Really though you could have 2 of the top overall picks in the 06 draft on one team in Mario Williams and Vince Young. The Bills have gotten better this off season getting a game changer on defense and locking up their play making wide out long term so adding Vince as a situational player for these Bills might be a good move, and dare i say have the makings of a "Dream Team ha ha" just kidding don't get too excited Bills fans after all it is just Vince.

Pacers square up with Magic...FANS!!

At about 2:45am this morning Pacers stars Kyrylo Fesenko and Danny Granger were involved in a verbal shouting match. Kyrylo was outside of club 23 in Orlando when he bumped into someone which turned into a shouting mach and once they realized who Kyrylo played for the mob grew bigger and the taunting got worse so instead of loosing his cool Kyrylo started to walk away, but as we all know that never works. Once the crowd followed Kyrylo across the street a team mate of the Pacer and star of the team Danny Granger came to the aid of his team mate in a rather aggressive fashion. Once the two started shouting back at the mob the police got involved and everyone went home happy..well maybe. Later jokingly the cops said oh they play for the Pacers, well if i would of known that  would of arrested them.

Jacoby released by the Texans

Well Texans fans looks like we all got what we wanted Jacoby Jones has been released from the Texans. To me this was a seasons overdue i don't think he should of been back this past season but yet there he was taking the money and dropping the ball. If i could i would like to rewrite a line from the great ESG instead of "Tell Kevin Cato" it is "Tell Jacoby Jones we want our money back" and ill finish that off with an LOL. Besides the news that he is gone the move frees up more cap space and an immediate opening for Keshawn Martin to jump right in and start at least at punt return and maybe the kick returner as well. Don't be surprised if the Texans turn into one of the better punt return teams in the league because we now have a guy who runs north and south instead of east and west. Martin will contribute a ton to the offense even if not at the wide receiver spot because of his ability to give the Texans a short field. No matter what way u cut it this was a good move by the Texans and this franchise is starting to let go of the dead weight.

Texans Draft Recap

So now that the Texans have completed the draft we as fans want to put a grade on how they did and I for one have some good and bad of the draft. First let me start off by saying that I give the Texans a draft grade of a C+ but then it was the undrafted free agents that they signed that moved their overall grade up to a B+. Lets start in the first round with the pick of Whitney Murcilus. This was a great pick to improve their already good pass rush and build some depth at a very important position on the defense. Now lets go to the Devier Posey pick I didn’t like it because they could of gotten this player latter in the round because he was headed for a longer fall in the draft due to his part in the Ohio State Tattoo scandal that held him and four other starters out most of the season and wasn’t a huge contributor. Next is Brandon Brooks and this pick I don’t like because all the O linemen for the Texans are right around the 300 pound mark and this guy brooks is 353 lbs too big to run the zone blocking scheme, unless he is that athletic or decides to drop 40 – 45 pounds in the off season. After that we have all my favorite picks in the draft by the Texans Keshawn Martin, the wide out from Michigan State who is what Jacoby Jones should have been is great with reverses, punt returns, average at kick returns,  and can change direction well so perfect for bubble screens and getting him the ball in space. After the loss of 2/5 of the offensive line the Texans select Ben Jones center from Georgia, one of the better picks at the offensive line position not only will he learn from the best in Meyers, but he can shift over to guard bringing tremendous  value to the team. Then there is Randy Bullock the best kicker in the draft and in all of college football, if this kid is as good as he was in college he will be an upgrade to a position that is very important come playoff time. Next is Jared Crick the defensive linemen from Nebraska this guy paired up with JJ Watt will be one hell of a player and a steal in the draft for the Texans and that Wade Phillips defense, I really can’t say enough good things about this pick. Finally we have Nick Mondek tackle from Purdue this is a versatile player and another good depth guy who once he learns the position can be a key component to this O line. This draft is one I have been waiting to see, because this kind of draft built teams like the Patriots, Ravens, and the Steelers to contend for championships and now I think the Texans are finally putting themselves at the top of the AFC and maybe one day the top of the NFL.

Texans take 21 Undrafted Free Agents

The Texans made just as big a move after the draft as they did during the draft picking up 21 undrafted free agents. The most notable of all the players picked up in free agency was Case Keenum, the home town kid from the University of Houston. This was a good pickup for the Texans he can learn under Coach Kubiak and develop into a good back up to TJ and hopefully thrive in this offense. Next is the wide receiver from UNC Dwight Jones who had 85 receptions for 1196 yards with 12 touch downs he was projected as a fourth rounder but questions about his work ethic and will to play had him drop but paired up with TJ and work horses like Andre and Walters I don’t see that being a problem at all. They also pick up a space eating big nose tackle in D.J. Bryant this is one of the UDFA that will challenge for a spot on the team and might send Earl Michelle the Texans current back up nose tackle packing. Here are the rest of the UDFA TCU tight end Logan Brock, James Madison linebacker, Loni Fangupo, Illinois fullback Jason Ford, William & Mary running back Jonathan Grimes, Houston defensive end David Hunter, Missouri receiver Jerrell Jackson, Bowie State linebacker Dalano Johnson, Grambling receiver Mario Louis, Merrimack linebacker Shawn Loiseau, Toledo safety Desmond Marrow, Maryland running back Davin Meggett, Mary Hardin-Baylor tackle Nate Menkin, Clemson defensive end Rennie Moore, Oregon safety Eddie Pleasant, Baylor defensive end Tracy Robertson, Ouachita Baptist tight end Phillip Supernaw, Illinois State guard Cody White, Pittsburgh linebacker Greg Williams.

Rockets' Season is Over

The Rockets finish the season at 34 and 32 and they give the fans some appreciation too. After the game the team left then came back out on the court to give out souvenirs including foam balls t shirts some fans even got game worn shoes and jerseys. After all the rockets fans have been threw it was refreshing to see the Rockets give back to there very loyal fan base. The off season begins for Morey and the Rockets so lets hope they make some good moves for the future of this team. Marcus Camby and Courtney Lee have already expressed interest in trying to work out a contract to stay with the team but as the old saying goes this is a business and what ever happens will be in the best interest of the team. No word on if Dragic would like to come back or if the Rockets would explore the option of keeping them both only time will tell. Here's to another .500ish season and hoping that the season wont end this soon for a long time.

Rockets Recap: Rockets vs Hornets Last game of the season

Texans get Mercilus

Now for some Texans talk i was hoping we get Fleener but i was more than thrilled to see the Texans get Mercilus i thought he would of been gone around pick 20 to the Titans. This kid is around 6-4 fast, long arms, and his jump off the ball is so good he can get past the slower right tackles in the league with little resistance. He is a little flawed but that is expected coming from college to the pros, and with Wade coaching him up i think this kid will be starting mid season and with him and Brooks going in and out of the rotation this pass rush will be that much better. Connor Barwin is approaching his last season under contract so i expect that this move is more insurance as well and hope fully we can keep Barwin but if not Mercilus will be a good alternative. Mercilus had 16 sacks and 9 forced fumbles last season at Illinois in a run first conference imagine the numbers he would of had in a passing league like the NFL. I'm thrilled to have him and with Barwin, Brook, and Whitney expect NO MERCY from the Texans defense.

Cowboys get Claiborne

Cowboys traded alot to move up and let me say I'm not mad at them for this pick. Claiborn was easily the best defensive back in the draft and on of if not the only shutdown corner to come out this year. Now that the Cowboys have two good corners players better B Ware Of D Ware because more times than not with this Ryans defense you will see alot of blitzing and a few more wins because of your defense. The Cowboys secondary was bad and was a big contributor to them not making the playoffs last year, but with the addition of Carr and Claiborne you can expect a playoff run Cowboys fans. I got to give it to Jerry Jones this off season has been a good one and if the Cowboys can pick up a D linemen, Wide receiver, and depth at O line this will be a good season for both teams in Texas. So Jorge Mike Alex and all you other Cowboys fans hope you have a big truck to pull the bandwagon of Cowboys fans that will be cheering on your team come playoff time.

Nike Elite Series

World Peace gone for 7 games.

7 games is not enough when he hit Harden and ran down the court it was like he snapped. Then Ibaka went to confront World Peace and Metta had that Ron Artest in Auburn Hills look like he was going to start swinging. I think Metta should be done for the rest of the playoffs and he just lucky he plays for the Lakers and not another mid level team like the Rockets or the suspension would be much worse.

Texans Mock Draft: 1st Round

Finally some NFL to talk about that is relevant and positive. So with the 26th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft what should the Houston Texans do? This is what I think they will do if they chose to keep the pick they will go after Coby Fleener TE from Stanford or Nick Perry DE from USC. Both of these guys are can’t miss prospects they both fit what the Texans are looking for from a players stand point on and off the field. Fleener will bring depth to a depleted TE/WR position and create miss matched all across the board whether it be on a LB/OLB, Safety, or CB the kids has strength speed and a pair of great hands I would love for the Texans to pick him at 26. Now if Fleener is gone I think the next best is Nick Perry DE out of USC this guy is a slightly bigger and faster JJ Watt and would be a beast on the outside behind Barwin and Brooks, and you know what they say you can never have enough pass rushers.
Now if the Texans trade down to the 38-40 range (mid 2nd round) this would give you the opportunity to get depth at O Line, OLB, WR, CB all before they hit the 5th round and by the way they might take a kicker in the 6th or 7th round from Texas A&M. So let’s say they move down to the second round they can take Mohamed Sanu WR from Rutgers or Stephen hill (If for some reason he’s still there) and NT Brandon Thompson or an O Lineman like Jonathan Martin from Stanford or Bobby Massie from Ole Miss. Any of these three choices would be great for the team and bring depth to two of the positions we need most. Finally here is what most Texans fans want to hear and that’s trade Tate and our 26th pick to move up to take Blackmon at 4 but that just won’t happen. So lets see what moves they make and don’t be surprised if the Texans move out of the first round and leave fans in suspense for one more day.

And the Winner IS???

Megatron took out SuperCam in the fan voting for the 2013 Madden Cover and i couldn't be more happy for him. Now how does this relate to the Texans you ask? Well the Texans play the Lions on Thanksgiving and if Megatron lives up the Madden curse that means the Texans will not have to worry about Megatron racking up big yard in the first Thanksgiving game for the Texans.

No Mo Pro Bowl?

So it looks like there might not be a Pro Bowl from here on out. There have been reports as early as this past super bowl that the commissioner was so disgusted with the past few pro bowls that he was ready to drop the event all together. Well in the words of Demo the DJ “Shit just got real” and it’s to the point that the Prow Bowl is on the schedule but has no location. I am not a fan of the Pro Bowl too much so I won’t really care one way or the other, but you know who will care?? Yup that’s right the Rookies for the 2012 season and everyone after that. This was a highlight of the season for some of these players who play for the Bengals, Browns, Chiefs and so on and so forth. It was the only time they were around other good players and helped them get over what a bad season they had. Any way what are your thoughts on the Pro Bowl getting taken out of the season, let me know leave a comment.

Speed Delivered:Brian Orakpo and Wale

Goodbye Newark, Hello Brooklyn

With the 26th pick...

Coby Fleener has caught many passes from Luck and now has the attention of a lot of scouts in the NFL. If you keep up with the blog you can see that I was high on Hill and Wright getting picked by the Texans, but I have since looked at what we lost and what we need to replace. We lost Mario but we have two starters so we can use a 2nd round pick for depth and Rick Smith proved he can get us just that in the 2nd round. The Texans also lost Demeco so they resigned  Dobbins and signed Bradie James from Dallas, but who is going to replace Dressen?? Joel Dressen was a huge part of the offense especially in the red zone and his hands were clutch catching some great 3rd down conversions so would it not make sense to draft a player who is bigger faster and has better hands than him?? Enter Coby Fleener TE from Stanford, this guy is an above average at blocking for both the pass and run, can run great routs, and has a 40 time of 4.45. Now you put him on the other side of Daniels and you have a pair of TE similar to what New England has and this would eliminate your immediate need for another wide out so u draft one in the 3rd to develop into the complement to Andre. If we get Coby this will not only make the offense better in the pass game but the run game as well because if you have two tight ends who can block and catch off a screen pass you only need 1 or 2 WR on the field depending on if you have Casey in at FB and if that’s the case you have 5 skilled position players who are above average at catching the ball thus making it harder for defenses to load the box on Foster. Here is to changing my mind AGAIN and hoping we draft Coby Fleener.

Castro knocked down but not out

In the loss to the Brewers Jason Castro took a big hit at the plate by the Brewers first baseman which in my opinion was uncalled for. Carlos Lee was following a high foul ball just past first base and as he caught the ball turned and threw the ball home, to a waiting Castro, who was all over home plate and was ready to tag a charging Mat Gamel. Gamel knowing he was going to be tagged out decided to lower his shoulder and try to jar the ball loose from Castro’s glove but Castro took the hit and ended the inning with an out at home.  The guy knew he was out no need to try to injure Castro who was already out last season with a knee problem. The play was border line dirty and if I was a pitcher I would of threw at Gamel to show if you go after my team mate ill go after you, but these young Astros went on to score 3 runs in the 7th inning to get within one run and made it a good game. I hope the Stros can come back and win the series, and also can one of the pitchers please hit Gamel for all of us Astros fans that are pissed about what happened last night.

Saint it aint so...pt.2

Well you know what they say, when it rains it pours. The Saints GM Mickey Loomis who is already under a 6 game suspension for his involvement in “Bounty Gate” can now add another discretion to his resume. Loomis is being of accused of using rewired lines in his superdome suite to ease drop on the opposing team from 02-04 and this is not only a problem for Loomis in the NFL but could go as far as a federal crime.  The charges have been referred to U.S. Attorney Jim Letten. It is unclear if Loomis' alleged actions would constitute a federal crime. However, it appears the statute of limitations on any possible state or federal violations has passed. This just went from bad to worse to almost the point of no return for Loomis and we aren’t even at the draft yet.

21st Perfect Game

Almost Time NFL Draft 2012

Stros blow out the Dodgers

After getting beat up on in the first two games of the series the Astros explode for 12 runs in the shut out win over the Dodgers. Wandy pitched a heck of a game going 7 innings and only allowing 3 hits and keeping the red hot Dodgers off the board. This was a good win and hopefully a confidence boost for the young team before they head out on a road trip. Jordan Schafer had a monster game hitting his first carer grand slam, that is one thing i thought hew was missing was the long ball and he showed he can hit one out the park. All the starters in the game for the Astros yesterday reached base and that hasn't happened in a while for the Stros. Wandy picked up his first win of the season and it was well deserved. Hope they can keep it up for a few more games. Root Root Root.

Houston we have a problem

The Rockets loss to Miami was not only the end of what little chance they had to make the playoffs, but also the end of Lee and Dragic in Houston. The way these guys play there is no way the Rockets can keep them in free agency there will be plenty of teams that would love their services. On the other hand if only the Rockets could get a star player at the center position I think these guys would be a pivotal peace to a championship team. The problem isn't management or the coach or ownership the problem is Houston is not a place players want to be, and i don't understand it we have a ton of good young talent like Parsons, Dragic, Lowery, Patterson from time to time, and we just need one star to come here. If the Rockets can pull off some deal with Dwight, pull Gasol from Memphis, or even Nikola Pekovic from Minnesota it would help plenty but they wont and the Rockets will always just miss the playoffs and have the 13-15th pick in the draft and stock up on power forwards. Make a change, pull the trigger on a trade, or just tank so we can get a top 5 pick in the draft because i cant stand watching my Rockets stay at a .500 team anymore.

Stash SWAG

So many questions for the Rockets

After the season what are the Rockets going to do? There is the draft, what kind of pick do they get and will a good player fall them. Courtney Lee and Goran have expiring contracts so who do you keep if you keep any at all? Can the Rockets find a trade partner to get Kevin Martin out of town? Then that do you do with Camby, hes old and hurt but you have no one to protect the rim with out him. What about the Lowery and Goran situation?? You can no longer trade Lowery to LA and you defiantly cant keep them both because Dragic has proving he can start and be very good in this league. Those are just a few not to mention Chase and Scola and what ever happened to the promising player Diamon that the Rockets signed last week? There are many questions and not enough answers. What will the Rockets do?
